Utopos Cabernet Sauvignon

2022 was a strong year for Utopos. After three dry seasons, winter and spring rains refreshed the soils. The vineyard set an even crop with a healthy canopy. Summer was warm and dry, followed by a well-timed rain in late February. Autumn was mild with no extreme heat, allowing fruit to ripen slowly and evenly.

Vineyard & Winemaking

• Location: Roennfeldt Road, Barossa Valley

• Harvested: March 24, 2022

• Fermentation: Short cold soak, 10-day cool ferment

• Maturation: 18 months in 2,500L foudre + mix of new and seasoned French barriques

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Lifted herbs, dark fruit, mocha, cedar

• Palate: Rich cassis, fine long tannins, elegant structure

• Style: Generous yet refined, with depth and length of flavour

Cellaring
Enjoyable now. Best from 2032 onwards. Will age gracefully for 20+ years.
