A Flavourful Clare Valley Shiraz
Jim Barry Lodge Hill Shiraz 2021 is a full-bodied Australian red wine made from 100% Shiraz grown in Clare Valley, South Australia.
The Lodge Hill Shiraz vineyard sits on the eastern ranges of Clare Valley, where rich, chocolatey loam soils lie over almost vertical sheets of slate rock. These soils create an ideal environment for low-yielding Shiraz vines, helping the wine develop depth, structure and generous fruit flavour.
Matured for 12 months in French oak, this Shiraz is bold, smooth and satisfying, with ripe dark fruit, spice and a savoury edge.
Tasting Notes
The nose opens with perfectly ripe black plum and forest berry compote, followed by hints of pepper, spice and a touch of sweet-cured meat.
On the palate, the wine is coiled and purposeful, with a smooth satin-like flow. A bright core of berry fruits combines with spicy oak, creating a rich, moreish and easy-to-enjoy finish.
Why You’ll Love It
This is a great choice for customers who enjoy Australian Shiraz with ripe fruit, spice and smooth texture.
It has enough body for meat dishes and BBQ, but it is not overly heavy. Perfect for casual dinners, gatherings or anyone looking for a reliable Clare Valley red wine.
