Les Tourelles de Saint Robert Graves 2020 – Château Saint Robert
Les Tourelles de Saint-Robert has a deep, bright ruby red color with fresh violet hues. The nose reveals spicy and floral scents, with hints of cherry jam and violets. In the mouth, however, it turns out to be a full and well-balanced wine. Notes of black currant jam and touches of vanilla make this Bordeaux red particularly elegant and persistent. Château Saint-Robert makes it through super-traditional vinification in thermoregulated stainless steel vats of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Very pleasant and not overly demanding, this is the right wine to accompany a Sunday lunch. Baked pasta, meat sauce and grilled ribs or a rich meatloaf are all dishes that go with it beautifully.
Château Saint-Robert is located in Pujols-sur-Ciron, 45 km from Bordeaux in the area known as “l’Enclos de Robert.” The Ciron River, which flows a few kilometers from the property, promotes morning mists in autumn. Today the Château is owned by the BPCE Domaines holding company, which also owns Château Beauregard and Pavillon Bel-Air in Pomerol. The winery can count on about 28 hectares of vineyards, cultivated with all the typical grape varieties of the region, so Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, but also grape varieties such as Sauvignon and Sémillon, intended for the production of very interesting whites. The winery is run following the criteria of integrated pest management, and both steel tanks and oak barriques are used in the cellar. For reds, in particular, great attention is paid to the delicate stage of maturation in order to obtain wines with character, softness and enjoyability.
